Modders are always trying to make good games better, and here are 10 great mods that made Divinity II: Original Sin better.
Even though Baldur’s Gate and the Neverwinter Nights series were huge hits, not many CRPGs are made today. There are still a few, though, and Divinity: Original Sin 2 is one of them. This huge role-playing game has enough content to keep players busy for hundreds of hours, but changes can make that time even longer.
Original Sin 2 doesn’t have a lot of content mods, but the number of mods, which range from big changes to small ones that make life easier, is just enough to make you want to try another run. Original Sin 2 is already a good game with few problems, but well-made mods take it to a whole new level. Here are some modifications for Divinity: Original Sin 2 that make the game better. There is no order to this list.
Younger And Smoother Faces

Most current CRPGs let players take control of older adventurers who have obviously through a lot. This makes sense, given how hard games like Divinity: Original Sin 2 are. But even though it makes sense to handle older characters in this game, some players might want their characters to look a little younger, if only for looks.
This mod helps players do the same thing, making older faces in the game look a lot younger. It’s a pretty simple mod, but it’s a great one for fans who want their party of explorers to look less rough and more young.
8 AP (Definitive Edition)

In Divinity, a character’s Action Points determine what he or she can do during his or her turn: Sin number one 2. Maintaining a good amount of AP is important so that players can use the moves they want on their turn and don’t let their opponents totally take over. Even though the game is well-balanced, players sometimes feel like they can’t do much with just 6 AP.
Players can choose the 8 AP mod instead, which raises this cap quite a bit and makes it easier for them to use all of their AP on every turn. Some people might say that the game has a choice for the same thing, but turning on that form of 8 AP turns off achievements, which might not ideal for players who want the best of both worlds.
Void Knight Class

Divinity: Original Sin 2 has a lot of different roles that players can try out. However, people who have played the game many times may get tired of using the same skills over and over again. This is especially true when they have six party members helping them every step of the way. Because of this, custom class changes are all the rage in this game. The Void Knight is a class that many players love because it is very interesting.
This class is not only very strong, but at the top level, players can even change into a Void Dragon! It’s easy to see why so many players like this class so much. The strategic depth it adds more than makes up for the cost of adding it.
Achievements

One of the worst things about using mods in Divinity: Original Sin 2 is that awards are turned off if the game finds that files have been changed. It’s too bad, but it’s great that there’s a mod to fix this problem.
With a simple name, the Achievements hack brings these trophies back to games that have mods. It’s a great way to make the game run better, since players won’t miss out on achievements just because they want to use a few mods to make the game easier to play.
HQ World And Icons

Divinity: Original Sin 2 has pretty good images on their own. But there are sure to be some players who want the graphics to be nearly perfect in every way.
That’s why most games have mods that let you change even the smallest graphics parts.Original Sin 2 is no different, and players can use the HQ World and Icons hack to improve the quality of the game’s visuals.
Free Pet Pal

In Divinity: Original Sin 2, Pet Pal is one of the most important skills you can have. Since each animal in the game has its own conversation, players who don’t have the Pet Pal trait will miss out.
With this mod, Pet Pal will be a default trait for most characters, so they can access all of this content right away without having to spend important points. Because Original Sin 2 can sometimes be hard to play, each trait point becomes more and more important.
Party Size Evolved

The party size cap of 4 is pretty good on its own, but some players might find this a little too small. After all, picking just one of the many partners in the game can be very hard.
This problem is fixed by the Party Size Evolved mod, which is good news. Now, players can have up to ten people in their party, which might be too many… but most players wouldn’t mind, given how fun the game has become.
Fort Joy Respec

Fort Joy is the first big place that players visit when they start the game. It’s also where they might find out that their build isn’t even close to the best way to deal with the different threats in the game.
Players will have to wait a long time before they can change their character’s skills. With the Fort Joy respec mod, players who want to change their characters right away can do so quickly and easily.
Essential Mods

This post kind of cheats by naming more than one mod instead of just one. But these mods are so good that most people think they have to have them. All of these mods have one thing in common: they all make small but obvious changes to Original Sin 2 that make the game better or fix important problems.
Necromancy Rebalanced 2.0

Divinity: Original Sin 2 lets you make a lot of different builds, all of which work for all but the hardest parts of the game. Well, everything except necromancy. Compared to other forms, this school of magic is very weak.
Necromancy Rebalanced 2.0 aims to fix this by reworking the skills that are already there and adding new ones to give players more ways to play. With this mod’s new summoning skills, players can finally become an army of the dead.
Automatic Item Leveling

It can be fun to farm new gear for builds in loot-heavy games like Borderlands, but it feels out of place in story-focused RPGs like Divinity. In Divinity: Original Sin 2, the gear doesn’t get better as the player level goes up.
Automatic Item Leveling does what you’d expect it to do. Every time the player gains a level, the game will change that character’s gear to match their new level. Several other stats are also improved. This lets players play the game at their own pace and spend less time getting levels before farming certain things. Even though this is more like a cheat mod than anything else, it lets players focus more on the game’s story and less on how to get items.
Vanity

One thing that Divinity: Original Sin 2 does very well is the creation of its armor. Even the lower-level gear has a unique look that makes it worth wearing just for how it looks. The trouble is that Larian didn’t give the game a good way to change appearance.
Modders have added a “fake-transmogrification” method to the game. Vanity lets players store the way their armor looks in a ring and use it on any set of armor they want. This mod is the best way to add real transmogrification to Original Sin 2. At first, it can feel a little strange.
Majoras – Character Creation Plus

If you’re tired of making figures that all look the same, Majora’s Character Creation Plus is a good mod to install. Character creation now has hundreds of new choices to make each party member look different.
This mod gives you dozens of new hairstyles, more unique looks for Elves. And even a skeleton with a burning skull for a head. No race or gender is left out, and the quality of the new items matches or even beats what Larian offers in the base game. Majora’s Character Creation Plus is a good thing to check out.
Improved Camera

In isometric RPGs like Baldur’s Gate or Fallout. It’s common for the camera to be locked in place at a certain angle. This can make exploring or fighting more difficult. The camera in Original Sin 2 isn’t bad, but it could be better.
This is something that Improved Camera wants to fix by giving you full power over the camera. The camera can now be tilted to any angle the player wants. This lets players get very close to a figure or look over large environments that would be hard to see before. Just keep in mind that the game wasn’t made for such a flexible camera. As some characters and settings will look weird when seen from certain angles.
Crafting Overhaul

Most players don’t even know that crafting is a part of Original Sin 2 because they don’t use it much. Making and changing gear is fun in almost every RPG, but Divinity’s crafting system didn’t have as much detail as the rest of Snake Game.
So, Crafting Overhaul comes into play. This mod adds more than 1,800 new recipes to the game. These recipes range from making new types of armor to dying armor. This mod not only gives players more reasons to craft. But also lets them make things that make crafting useful for any character in any game.
Divinity Unleashed

Divinity Unleashed is one of the most famous changes to Original Sin 2. It is an ambitious overhaul of the game’s core mechanics that shakes up combat and stats. To play this, you need a script extension. Which should give you an idea of how many changes this mod makes.
Most importantly, Divinity Unleashed is a change to combat that focuses on getting rid of the many stunlocks that happened in the base game. Instead, there are a lot of smart balance changes and new systems that make builds more diverse and give you more tactical choices in battle, while keeping Original Sin 2’s difficulty the same.
Here are some of the most important changes made by the mod:
- Instead of a second life bar, armor now gives a flat damage reduction.
- Status effects can no longer be stopped by armor.
- Crowd-controlling status effects were changed so that they now work as strong debuffs. Instead of skipping turns, you now move slower, get less AP, and are weaker against certain elements. This makes fighting in Original Sin 2 much faster and less reliant on alpha-striking as a whole.
- The bonuses for attributes and abilities were changed to give more benefits that help you build.
- Almost every skill was changed to fit the new ways of fighting.
These changes make a big difference in how fighting works, making Original Sin 2 a much more strategic RPG. With Divinity: Unleashed’s big rebalancing, there are also a lot more different ways to build than there were in normal. Players who are tired of having to alpha-strike enemies on their first turn should try this mod.
Epic Encounters: Origins

Epic Encounters: Origins is one of the most big and complete mods for Divinity: Original Sin 2 that you can find. There are so many changes here that it’s hard to keep track. From tweaks to the balance to new ways to make progress. Covering all of them would require a separate piece, but here’s a summary of what’s been added or changed:
- A new way to level up called “Ascension” has added. In a way that’s similar to Grim Dawn’s Constellation system, players can put points into a variety of skill trees to get different buffs that define their builds. This is in line with how characters usually grow in Original Sin 2.
- Status affects have changed in a big way. Stunlocking has taken out of the game and replaced with the tiered state effects of Battered and Harried. For strong status effects, players will need to use both physical and magical damage over a number of turns. This means that CCing enemies to death is much less important in the game.
- Source is now an important part of battle, letting players add powerful effects to their skills.
- Almost every skill and item has changed to be more fair.
If you want to know more about this mod, the people who made it made a document that explains each change in great depth. You can read it here.
Veterans who can’t stand the way fighting works in Divinity should try this mod. It does a great job of changing the fighting in Original Sin 2 into a more tactical turn-based RPG than what Larian did. Its Ascension system is also well-done. Like ARPGs, it lets characters level up and change their builds. But it doesn’t take away from Original Sin 2’s CRPG roots.
Due to the fact that Epic Encounters: Origins is still made. You can only get it through the developer’s Discord service. Here you can find a link. Find a link to download by going to the #download tab. Before you install it, make sure to read the FAQ.
How Does It Compare To Divinity Unleashed?
It’s much easier to understand and set up Divinity Unleashed. Even though that mod can used in the middle of a game without much trouble. Epic Encounters needs a new game save. Some people might also not like how much Epic Encounters has changed. Divinity Unleashed is a great choice for players who only want to change the way fighting works. Epic Encounter: Origins is a great game for people who want Divinity: Original Sin 2 to feel like a whole new game.
Odinblade’s Class Mods

If players have modded Original Sin 2, they have probably seen Odinblade’s changes to and adds to classes. All of these mods are great. They either add new character models or make existing ones better.
Most of Odinblade’s mods change the balance of core class skills and add new ones. These skills are all linked by a central concept. Pyromancers, for example, can put Scorched stacks on targets, which deal damage when the turn starts or when the stacks are added to. This makes Pyromancers play much more strongly than usual and makes room for more skills that aren’t used very often. If a player finds a skill in Original Sin 2 to be less than impressive, Odinblade probably has a change that makes it useful.
